I also haven't heard anyone object to my interpretation of "include" in the BSD advertising clause. If anything, BSD bigots[1] should agree with it, for many of them angrily denounce the GNU GPL for having an "expansive" definition of "including". It would be the height of irony, if not hypocrisy, to apply that same expansive definition of "inclusion" to their own license while simultaneously ridiculing the Free Software Foundation for doing the same thing. [1] For purposes of this discussion, a "BSD bigot" is someone who has a problem with the FSF's philosophy and/or software licenses.
