Potential conflict between gnome-session and gnome-core

Did apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade last night:

Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Correcting dependencies... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
  gnome-session
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  gnome-session
0 packages upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
1 packages not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 0B/288kB of archives. After unpacking 758kB will be used.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n]
(Reading database ... 48506 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking gnome-session (from .../gnome-session_1.4.0.7-1_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/gnome-session_1.4.0.7-1_i386.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/share/man/man1/gnome-smproxy.1.gz', which is
also in package gnome-core
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/gnome-session_1.4.0.7-1_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Before I start filing bugs, have I done something wrong, or is something
specific to my system horked?

Regards

Peter.
