It would be very nice to have it enabled by default, but AFAIK this
feature can cause massive data corruption on some drives (although there
are very few). Also, the multicount setting improves performance a lot,
and should be less dangerous - but still too much to be enabled by
default, it should be provided by a debconf question.

Doesn't discover automatically enable SCSI emulation ?
