I think developers should have the freedom to do what they think best.

In your zeal to say "we should have no policy against offensive
speech"--which I would support, since it upholds the freedom of the
individual developer, you have gone to the opposite extreme "a
developer should package whatever `upstream' gives him"--which
operates as just as severe a restriction on the developer.

I trust Debian developers to do the right thing, and don't think they
need compulsion one way or the other.
