Well, back in the day, I joined the project to help rebuild packages
for m68k (long before the "build daemons" were even conceived of, much
less implemented). I'm pretty sure I didn't start maintaining
packages for a good while, certainly nothing important (some might
argue that's still the case :-).
I suspect there are quite a few developers who are were in the same
boat as me; many still do more work porting or on infrastructure stuff
than they do on package maintenance per se.
