If you had taken the time to look at the savannah project you would
have seen patches in the patch tracker. There is development being
done on plex86 at the moment, it's only not really visible because the
CVS isn't working.

It can replace vmware easily. There might be some bugs which might
cause that it doesn't really work at the moment, those bugs are
fixable. You can also checkout the plex86 of some time ago when it
still worked and use that.

Promoting non-free software when there is a free alternative doesn't
service the free software community at all.
