Re: Bug#134658: ITP: lsb -- Linux Standard Base 1.1 core support package

Anthony,
First off, I'd like to say that I appreciate your diligence in poking
us with these issues. Because we are all human, we can only deal with so many
things at once, and as a result stuff falls through the cracks. If it weren't
for you and others that continue to champion these issues, we would be stuck
with some bad decisions.

We thought that we had things in place (such as the bug tracking
system on sourceforge) to help us ensure that things didn't fall through
the cracks. Apparently, though it has helped tremendously, we still have
problems with this. Now, before things get completely ramped up for the next
release of the spec, is a good time to examine these kinds of proceedure to
see how well they have worked. Since it is obvious that they haven't, I have
created and assigned to myself a Task to examing the bug processing proceedure
we have used. This proceedure should be more consensus based with a few more
checks and balances that we currently have.

One of the known issues that we have is the lack of a proper dispute
resolution mechanism. This is being worked on in a larger context, but is not
yet available.

Lacking a proper mechanism for this, if you can provide me the list
of bug numbers that you felt were inappropriately closed or rejected, I will
re-open them and ensure that they are properly addressed.
