Hmm? What are you talking about? 

Did you read that "if" ? And how do you suppose release goals are set, hmm?
By a single person, with no regards to what the group thinks?  We may have
roundabout ways on those things in this project, but if there is enough
opposition to something, it won't be done.

If the group decides that unicode support is worth enough to become a
release goal, and the release manager approves, then so be it. I know for a
fact I would do whatever I could to get unicode up to shape in my packages.

If we were testing the "force everybody to help get the new release
out-of-the-door" and that forced some of my packages not to be updated, then
I would put them up in people.d.o/~hmh or something like that. Big deal.

Now, if you want to call something in this project "selfish", let's talk about
the maintainers that walk away on their responsabilities and don't even tell
us so, causing all the MIA problems, shall we?
