In fact, that is what gqmpeg already uses:

Recommends: xmixer | gnome-media | gom-x | gamix | mixer.app | kmix | aumix-gtk | wmmixer | asmixer

Except that nothing provides xmixer, and it was not properly discussed as a
virtual package.
