woody: Remaining RC bugs in base system

#126441: libc6: buffer overflow in glob() [critical]

The nature and fix for this problem are relatively well-established. It
  is just taking some time.

#127635: sysvinit: halt called with -h is fatal for root-raid systems [critical]

  NEEDS ATTENTION
The final consensus seems to be that this is more likely a kernel bug than
a sysvinit bug. Someone who understands the MD subsystem needs to look
into this and reassign it with some details.

#112499: slapd: Invalid LDIF causes server crash [grave]

A new upstream version is on the way (I thought base was frozen?) which
Wichert hopes will fix this bug. If not, there is a patch in the BTS
which hopefully will still fix things in the new upstream version.

#126898: slapd: conf file doesn't get created, /var/lib/ldap doesn't get populated [grave]

Seemingly trivial patch in the BTS since Jan 15. Probably delayed by the
  new upstream release mentioned above.

Maybe sometime in the future, exim can be changed to dlopen() the LDAP
library instead of linking with it, so that it isn't pulled into base?

#128255/#129415/#129694: slang1-utf8

Binary incompatibility between normal slang and the utf8 version. Can't
we fix this by just assuming that they are incompatible and treating them
  as such?

  Big headaches for boot-floppies.

#122976: libnewt-utf8-0

  NEEDS ATTENTION
Same problem as above. Big headaches for boot-floppies.

#128941: libnewt-utf8-0

Newt is not clearly indicating the menu selection when using a monochrome
display. Is this really release-critical? I have performed more daunting
tasks than Debian installation without being able to tell what button/menu
  entry is selected.

  NEEDS ATTENTION
This seems like it should not be difficult to fix once the problem is
  located.

#130422: gcc-3.0

  NEEDS ATTENTION
xgcc segfaulting on ARM during build, forwarded upstream, no news.

#128862: modutils: GPL license check fails on common 32/64 builds

Verified patch in BTS. Needs to be applied.

#126689: nano 1.1 shouldn't be in testing [serious]

Fake bug to keep nano out of testing. base.debian.net should omit bugs
  with the 'sid' tag.

#130581: ncurses_5.2.20020112a-1(mips/unstable): out of date config.guess [serious]

Trivial fix. But does this bug even apply to the version in woody
(5.2.20010318-3)? Would it be better to leave that version in woody?

#111563: tetex-bin: texi2pdf bookmarks and hyperlinks point to the 1st page [serious]

  NEEDS ATTENTION
Is this really release-critical? It only affects PDF translations of
  texinfo documents.

So there are 15 bugs remaining. 5 of them relate to the newt/slang utf8
nightmare. 5 more are not bugs in woody or have patches in the BTS. The
remaining 5 are tagged "NEEDS ATTENTION" above and need help.
