Or perhaps it is a matter of simply not having yet been brought to the
attention of a Debian maintainer with time for sponsorship. With so
much going on within Debian, it is easy for things like this to get missed.
I am guessing that the people who are best able to sponsor *are* busy, but
not so busy that they wouldn't take time out to help by being a sponsor for
an applicant if what they were doing looked sufficiently interesting. Thus,
an organized effort at match-making may be in order. The "shotgun" approach
is clearly not working.
