I would go for a female character. We've had only male characters up until
now, I think it's about time for a female one too.
There's AFAIR one female toy in this movie, the one that gets woody under
a mistletoe at the end of the movie (but she appears at other moments,
too); she's a porcelain puppet.
Unfortunately, I can't remember her name... anyone?
