Hi,

Programming portably is also much more, not the least of which is "use
prototypes so the compiler will help you do typechecking at the points
of calls, and will do the Right Things for a wide range of platforms".

It's also everything else to make your program (again) "...do the Right 
Things for a wide range of platforms".
