Concering restarting demons I want to note that the semantic of "restart"
express that there allready is something runing. To find that out
and do what it takes is IMHO either a task for some helper program (idealy
start-stop-daemon) or the initscript.
>From that point of view:
source /etc/init.d/* restart
should be all that is needed.
