More things about the toolchain: ldconfig doesn't create libfoo.s o links anymore?

Still on my unstable Debian, I install a package with

	/usr/lib/libicu-uc.so.1.7
	/usr/lib/libicu.so.1 -> libicu-uc.so.1.7

and then run ldconfig, and there is no

	/usr/lib/libicu-uc.so

created....
