Can I ask why you think /usr/ports is desirable? The Makefiles
posted to debian-devel demonstrate how easy it is to get the
source or binary to a package; ie just apt-get <package> or
apt-get source <package>. What's the benefit of scripts/Makefiles
in /usr/ports to do that for you?
