Yes, but I was trying to make the point that the kernel and the
bootloader are the only Linux-project-specific boot essentials which
come to mind; that GRUB exists and works pretty well only solidifies
the point that GNU is a significant part of the OS. Certainly as much
or more so as the kernel.
