Yeah, it *could* be useful, in fairly limited circumstances, but there is
always:
dpkg --remove --ignore-depends=<package>
or
dpkg --remove --force-depends
In other words, it's not currently an insurmountable problem, and I
wonder whether the limited value is worth the effort.
