The problem isn't the software, it's the infrastructure like the BTS
for example. There needs to be sufficient manpower available to do the
necessary adaptions. We need to establish consensus if a BTS hosted
under debian.org is allowed to accept bug reports for debian-non-free.

And all of that isn't necessary since we _have_ infrastructure that
actually _works_. Don't we have more pressing issues on the table? How
many months is potato currently late?

Two years ago, Debian was one of the three major Linux distributions.
We have lost that rank, and we are working hard to fall into complete
oblivion, being a laughed-on freak distribution that is only useable
as a basis for "value added" distributions like Corel and for hardcore
developers.
