its actually not a problem in vrms, but rather that the status file
does not tend to get things like section updated properly.  i guess
this would be a bug in dselect or apt? or dpkg?

do a dpkg -s ssh and it will probably say

...
Section: non-US/non-free
...

even if that is not really true.
