[eb@plato eb]$ ls -l /etc/hosts -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 203 Dec 7 23:35 /etc/hosts [eb@plato eb]$644 as it should be. I did many monthes ago find /etc/ld.so.conf mode 600 too changed it to 644 and its stayed that way.
