xfs/xfstt run as root by default?
hi,
I wanted to ask the list to make sure there was not a reason for this
before filing a bug...
I have noticed that xfs and xfstt are being run as root on my potato
system why? I have read that there have been/are security problems
with xfs and that it should not be run as root.
xfstt's initscript is actually attempting to run it as nobody but
that is not working evidently:
[eb@plato ~]$ ps aux | grep xfs
root 233 0.0 0.9 2088 1200 ? S 20:50 0:00 /usr/bin/X11/xfs
root 238 0.0 0.5 1680 1200 ? S 20:50 0:00
/usr/bin/X11/xfstt --port 7101 --daemon --user nobody
redhat runs xfs as user xfs would this better then nobody?
Best Regards,
Ethan Benson
