gpg w/ idea and rsa packages

I'm not sure what's up with this...ie..is it me or not..but
I have been playing email tag with James Troup for about 2 months
now trying to get my maintainer stuff setup. The hassle has
been with me signing my dl images and sending them to him. Well,
I prefer gpg and have been using it for several months now with
no problems. (that I knew of)

Ok, I signed the pic's like I was told
gpg --clearsign --armor id1.jpg

and it creats a id1.jpg.asc output...so I send this off to James
and he comes back with a it's not working response...

So I try it again and again...no go. Today I started troubleshooting
this and found that after removing the idea and rsa packages (gpg-idea
and gpg-rsa) and then rerun the above command, I can then do a
gpg --verify id1.jpg.asc and it works. (whereas before it would
error saying bad signature)

Any ideas...I know that gpg is still in development and all, but
since Debian is moving towards using gpg instead of pgp and these
2 packages are now available this is an issue. Of course it isn't
an issue if I'm the only one this is happening to.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Ivan
