I have been running 2.1.125 for several months, and PPP certainly
works for me. I plan to continue running recent kernels. However, I
agree that slink should ship with 2.0.36.

[Actually, I have had everything working except CDROM access - I would
get "hda: timeout waiting for DMA" and a hard crash. Just today I
downloaded 2.1.132 and got CDROM access working too by disabling "Use
DMA by default when available". I assume the same config option would
work with 2.1.125 too.]
