Re: Including package's home page with package description

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I'd second this (almost-a-) proposal if I were a developer...

What I'd like to see would be more info on a package before
downloading it... packages with separate -doc packages are very nice
here: you can get the -doc, peruse it, and make an *informed* decision
on whether you likely to need/have use for the package.

I'm not saying every package should have a separate -doc package (some
things are just too small), but a <package>-readme wouldn't be too
bad... I think.

On a related note: can someone explain how one tames the `search'
system on www.debian.org? There seems to be no way to limit searches
to categories (like, "only package descriptions")

And one more: will apt (the ui) support searching package descriptions
in addition to just the package name (which, IMHO, is pretty dumb to
begin with... I'd never find bitchx nor epic when looking for an irc
client.)

Anyway,

Bye, J
