I agree with this. But I don't think this is the issue. I just don't see
enough flexibility from the other side to have me go out of my way to
accommodate them. Quite on the contrary, it seems to me that it's taken for
granted that theirs is the better solution and therefore we need to accommodate
it. Quite frankly, I don't think I want to participate on this terms. But then
there is enough people in Debian to do it regardless of what I do and
therefore my opinion doesn't carry any weight.

Agreed. I just want to be shown that that is the case. Until then I remain
skeptical.
