Decent MIME tools?
Hi. I would like to know if there are any _filters_ which will MIME-decode
multipart messages. What I want to do is to decode all the pieces of real
text into standard 8-bit, but leave the rest alone (I want to discriminate
on the basis of content-type). But I want to do this to multipart messages,
not whole ones (so the examples from man procmailex won't work). And I want
to keep everything which isn't decoded intact.
Is there such a program(s), or do I need to code my own solution, using perl
or some such?
PS. The reason I'm doing this is that I'm trying to set up local mail<-->news
gateway so that I can read the debian lists in tin or knews, with decent
threading. But tin doesn't support MIME very well at all, especially not all
that quoted-printable garbage (like the way = becomes =3D).
