See gcc/README-bugs in the egcs source. The most important things are IMO:
- a _selfcontained_ source file exhibiting the problem
- the precise optimisation that triggers the bug (see gcc/toplev.c for
  which optimisations are enabled on what level).

Newer upstream snapshot are available; Matthias, do you have an ETA for
packages thereof?
