Sorry, but I disagree with that approach to fix that bug.
Without my patch, "screen" does not work at all if you don't have
CONFIG_UNIX98_PTYS=y in your kernel, and I think that should be more
important than freeing ptys.
Any help is welcomed; I'm afraid I don't have much time right now to
fix this.
