* non-maintainer (binary-only) upload for Alpha
* modify configure.in so that it knows where to look for the standard Debian
packaging of libgsm, and uses the shared version. This needs to be done
differently, currently it's _ugly_.
* modify configure.in not to use bogus -m486 compile flag for *linux*
* tell configure to look for X stuff under /usr/X11R6
* no distclean target in Makefile, so fix debian/rules to 'make clean'
* remove Makefile and config.status in clean target
* a couple of minor C fixes
