Uploaded virtual-dev 0.2 (source all) to chiark

There's been some discussion about this package; I thought I'd get this
version out now, since it appears to work, then work on incorporating
the results of the discussion later... In particular, the name of this
package will certainly change in the next version.

Have fun,

Source: virtual-dev
Binary: virtual-dev
Architecture: source all
Version: 0.2
Distribution: experimental
Urgency: low
Maintainer: Charles Briscoe-Smith <cpb4@ukc.ac.uk>
Description:
 virtual-dev - Limits disk spin-ups by putting /dev/ on a ramdisk
Changes:
 virtual-dev (0.2) experimental; urgency=low
 .
   * Corrected '>' to '2>' in rc.boot script.
   * Corrected README; there's no /usr/sbin/virtual-dev-config!
   * Added "written by" and "public domain" notices all over the place.
 .
   * Config file is now in /etc/virtual-dev/. Postinst moves the file
     if necessary.
   * In postinst, check whether ramdisk device files are up-to-date,
and update them if necessary. If /dev is mounted, signal rc.boot
script to do the necessary updates instead.
   * Add CONSOLEDIR= setting to config file. Move /dev/console out of
/dev and into $CONSOLEDIR, leaving a symlink. Fixes nasty message
     from umount on system shutdown.
   * Increase default number of inodes on /dev filesystem from 1000 to
1500, and size from 100Kb to 150Kb, because a newly installed bo
system will contain about 1300 inodes in /dev. When I tried creating
a 1500-inode Minix filesystem, it worked, but I hear that this may
     not work on all systems...
   * Made it possible for the persistent to choose a nonexistant block
device for the ramdisk in postinst.
   * When purging, if /dev is mounted, don't remove
/etc/virtual-dev/console. Only remove it on next boot by creating
     /etc/rc.boot/virtual-dev-purger script.
   * Adjust boot-time messages to (in my opinion) adhere more closely to
     Debian policy.
