Hello world,
Following packages should disappear from testing/woody (but not from
unstable/sid) with the next mirror run:
circlepack | 4.0.1-3 | source, alpha, arm, i386, m68k, powerpc, sparc
dstool | 2.0-4 | source, alpha, i386, m68k, powerpc, sparc
treetool | 2.0.2-1 | source, alpha, arm, i386, m68k, powerpc, sparc
xvmount | 3.6-10 | source, alpha, arm, i386, m68k, powerpc, sparc
(uninstallable: depends on xviewg which needs a rebuild to cope with X4)
ditributed-net | 2.7018.401-1 | powerpc
distributed-net | 2.7106-7.1 | source, alpha, i386, sparc
(uninstallable on all but ppc; depends on libnss-compat which is no
longer available; fixed versions are in sid for some arches)
locale-ja | 18 | source, all
locale-vi | 1-5 | source, all
locale-zh | 0.9+0.05-5 | source, all
(uninstallable; versioned conflicts with libc)
kterm | 6.2.0-19potato2 | source, alpha, arm, i386, m68k, powerpc, sparc
(uninstallable; depends on locale-ja)
mxmaps | 1.0-7 | source, all
(uninstallable; depends on xmap-{s,d}motif, which aren't available)
task-chinese | 0.7 | source
task-chinese-s | 0.7 | all
task-chinese-t | 0.7 | all
(uninstallable; waiting for new zh-autoconvert)
wmppxp | 0.51.0-2 | source, alpha, arm, i386, m68k, powerpc, sparc
(uninstallable; waiting on updated ppxp (which no longer builds) that
doesn't depend on old xpm libs)
abiword | 0.7.7-1 | source, alpha, arm, i386, m68k, powerpc, sparc
(RC bug #74882; the latest packaged version may fix this, but it suffers from
other RC bugs)
base-config | 0.43 | source, alpha, i386, m68k, powerpc, sparc
(RC bug #79336; fixed in unstable)
fetchmail | 5.5.3-1 | source, alpha, arm, i386, m68k, powerpc, sparc
fetchmailconf | 5.5.3-1 | all
(RC bugs #69983, #75287, #76663, #85096 against fetchmail; RC bug #69005
against fetchmailconf; some of these may be able to be downgraded or closed)
lilo | 1:21.6-2 | source, i386
lilo-doc | 1:21.6-2 | i386
(RC bug #81342, amongst others; don't appear to be fixed in unstable)
smail | 3.2.0.111-5 | source, alpha, arm, i386, m68k, powerpc, sparc
(RC bugs #69165, #66595; smail was pulled from potato for these, shouldn't
have appeared in testing at all :-/. It's also orphaned, so no fixes in
unstable)
libforms0.86 | 0.86-5 | source, i386
libforms0.86-altdev | 0.86-5 | i386
(Unused; doesn't work with X4)
metro-motif-lib | 2.0-2 | source, all
metro-motif-demobin | 2.0-2 | source, all
metro-motif-bin | 2.0-2 | source, all
metro-motif-devel | 2.0-2 | source, all
metro-motif-demosrc | 2.0-2 | source, all
metro-motif-man | 2.0-3 | source, all
(-lib and -demobin depends on xpm4.7, -bin and -devel depend on -lib
-demosrc depends on -devel, no point keeping -man around if all the
others go away)
communicator-base-47 | 4.7-14 | i386, powerpc
communicator-nethelp-47 | 4.7-14 | all
communicator-smotif-47 | 4.7-14 | i386, powerpc
communicator-spellchk-47 | 4.7-14 | all
navigator-base-47 | 4.7-14 | i386
navigator-nethelp-47 | 4.7-14 | all
navigator-smotif-47 | 4.7-14 | i386
netscape-base-47 | 4.7-14 | i386, powerpc
netscape-java-47 | 4.7-14 | all
netscape-smotif-47 | 4.7-14 | i386
netscape4.7 | 4.7-14 | source
({communicator,navigator,netscape}-base-47 on i386 depend on xpm4.7 and
thus don't work with X4, all the rest go along with it as from the same
source package)
netscape3 | 3.04-8 | source, i386
(also depends on xpm4.7, and also doesn't work with X4)
If/when these packages are fixed, they should automatically get returned
into testing -- the above certainly doesn't mean any of those packages
won't make it into woody by the time it's released. OTOH, if they're
not going to be fixed the maintainers probably need to request their
removal from unstable (file a bug against ftp.debian.org).
This leaves woody's uninstallability count at:
i386: 18 packages
alpha: 38 packages
sparc: 43 packages
m68k: 80 packages
arm: 151 packages
powerpc: 164 packages
For reference, the unreleased architectures in sid look like:
mips: 401 packages
hurd-i386: 897 packages
(mips, mipsel, sh, hppa and ia64 don't have any non arch: all uploads
at the moment)
The testing scripts' guesstimate at how many RC bugs testing still
has after this is around 250. There are 505 RC bugs all up (including
virtual packages like ftp.debian.org and packages that are only in sid,
not woody).
Cheers,
aj
