woody Debian Installer plans
The debian installer team is currently planning how the next installer
will work, documents describing these plans are at
http://cvs.debian.org/debian-installer/doc/
One of the primary goals of the woody installer is that it will become
very modular, and rely on debconf style configuration such modules. It
is intended to be a fairly radical change from the current installer.
There has been a very long thread recently on debian-boot regarding how
it should work, amoungst other things there has been a lot of interest
in mass and automated installs.
If anyone has has strong opinions on the installer i would encourage
them to checkout the documents and recent threads on debian-boot mailing
list and discuss there thoughts on the debian-boot mailing list.
It would be good to get different viewpoints whilst it is still very
much in the planning stage.
Thanks
Glenn
