Actually I fail to see how you can find them offensive, the responses
where quite friendly and unfortunately you haven't responded at all to
the question, also your initial report indeed lacked some information -
and even if they are obvious for you to find it might not be as easy to
people that aren't involved in Debian that deeply.
Please be notified that if you are speaking about the gentle source
package that is the same in ubuntu maverick so I even fail to see the
reason for your sync request, which might also have added to the
confusion: <http://packages.ubuntu.com/gentle>
