Alternative approach to LiveCD

Hi,

I see some of you discussed a mini-livecd-installer tool recently
(browsing the web archive just before I finally subscribed to this list
- - sorry it took me a year to do so...).

Fabian Franz, a Knoppix hacker, has recently succeded in moving his
Knoppix-based LiveCD to use Debian-Installer through (as I understand
it) borrowing some work of Ubuntu (called "casper").

Last weekend Fabian posted a summary of his approach here:
http://www.skolelinux.de/wiki/SkoleLive/DebianInstaller-makeyourown

Please point me to it if there's already a common wiki page for
comparison of approaches to making LiveMedia (so I can also post it
there when I get more polished HOWTO for my LiveUpdateableUsbStick aimed
at firewalls and single applications like a VoIP phone).
