Yeah, I stumbled into it this sunday, when I was going at last to begin my
own LFS install (after installing Woody from NetInst, LFS is the last step
on my own path to enlightenment :D ...).

I think that these paragraphs, like other advocacy pieces, doesn't
deserve the time that they take. I mean ... sometimes someone has to write
down stuff like that not to convince others they are doing the right
thing... but to convince themselves! ^_^;

If we want to do something serious about that we should politely point out
that:

1) the Debian QA team tries to ensure that no unneded dependencies are
added in the bootdisks or in the base system

2) a bit of largeness is necessary if we want to make a standard system,
which is fail-proof even when deployed in large quantities, or on large
arrays of machines. However it is not true that the user is not in
control. The tools are thought in order to let people be in control,
and the way a Debian system works is fully documented.

Heh, without Gnome it's really easy. *grin*

ROTFL!

I thought that it was good to put a photo of my cat getting angry and
scratching the deb cd :)

Ciao.
