Bug#727708: Systemd: not just gnome

Hello all,

I did not see it linked yet, and thought it pertinent to the
discussion: some kde plasma desktop developers described their
possible intentions to utilize systemd functionality (while keeping
their existing shell script based startup for non systemd systems) in
a future release here

While not a surprise, it is worth noting that it is not only Gnome
that is looking into systemd, and that this init selection continues
to have ramifications outside of system initialization. I'd suggest
looking over Martin Gräßlin's comments as well as the in-depth reply
by Aaron Seigo explaining their reasoning.
