Speaking as a happy user of the Debian systemd packages: please don't.
Having seen Russ Albery's mail regarding transition plans
(https://lists.debian.org/debian-ctte/2013/12/msg00258.html), which I'd
agree with wholeheartedly, I hope that even if Debian makes the mistake
of choosing upstart as a default, that the systemd packages remain
viable. (After all, Debian needs at least one sane init system. ;) )

Regardless of the outcome of the tech-ctte's decision, I would happily
serve as an early-warning system for any breakage that occurs in other
packages when used without upstart, and I'll happily volunteer to help
maintain the systemd packages on an ongoing basis if that would help.

Thanks again for all your work on systemd.
