Jessie images in AWS EC2 are currently 'experimental', and as such are refreshed on a roughly monthly and a half basis. Once Jessie is released it will fall into regular release in lock-step with Debian releases, but in addition with significant security updates where we wish to have the base image updated for security exploits without the need for boot-time package updates (as some EC2 instance live in networks where they don't have direct access to get package updates).
The old (and already replaced a month and a bit ago) Jessie image from November is ready to be tidied away. End of this weekend I'll start to remove 20141113 image (removed from https://wiki.debian.org/Cloud/AmazonEC2Image/Jessie some time ago) . If you have used this image, then your running instance(s) will continue to run (please regularly apply security updates via apt-get/aptitude/etc), but any AutoScale groups or CloudFormation templates you have used with this revision will stop; please update them to the 20141225 build (on the above URL).
We'll likely push a fresh Jessie build in the next week or so. Thus far no comments have come in for major changes to the build; the inclusion of apt-transport-https seems to have been well received (along with https://cloudfront.debian.net with a valid SSL certificate).
