RE: AMIs on wiki doesn't match AMIs in AWS Marketplace?

The Marketplace team clone the AMIs that I produce (in my role as DD) into their account in US East. They should be bit-for-bit identical, but with a new AMI ID. They then distribute these to all regions that I have indicated (all of them we can distribute too that AWS Marketplace supports), which again gets new AMI IDs in each Region.

This command (with the AWS CLI installed and you profile set up) will give you some small result set to find the AMI ID in:

$ aws --profile droesler --region ap-southeast-2 ec2 describe-images --owners aws-marketplace --filters "Name=description,Values=Debian*"
(droesler needs to be an entry in your config file for the aws command with your secret/access keys)
