Hm, looks like my earlier reply didn't go to the list, so lets try that again....

I started setting this up, but turned out that using cloudfront was cheaper - with the side effect of not being restircted to just AWS regions. Every AWS region also (currently) has a CloudFront POP, which from a traffic charging perspective from EC2 is within each AZ. The only down side is first-hit time.

Do you see an issue with using cloudfront.d.n?
