i am not saying that the proposal of that GSoC project should be
rejected, but i am totally against GSoC students needing to pay for AWS
to get their projects done.

Fair enough. Also happy to provide Euca infrastructure to these students, fwiw.  Better images on AWS == better images on Eucalyptus.  Wins all around. :)

So the proposal should just be more clear about what infrastructure is
expected to be used. And i wanted to put GSoC coordinators into the loop
in case it goes into the wrong direction.
