Re: Trying to find the new AMIs is pretty impossible if you don't know where to look.

(Following Anders lead with top-posting)

I also want to observe that the process for launching AMIs from the
Marketplace is sub-par and geared towards "for pay" subscription-based
virtual appliances. For example, I can not launch an instance with the
AMI without first going to the Marketplace website and accepting a
"Terms and subscription commitment".

One doesn't have to do this for either Community AMIs, or "Quick
Start" AMIs. It's both disjointed in that launching from the console
now requires one to take a trip to the Marketplace website, and
somewhat scary, in that even though the terms and conditions one is
required to agree to are the "Debian Social Contract", I don't believe
we make anyone actually agree to this to run or install Debian
anywhere else.

I don't know what official policy here is but I suspect, we may have
to reconsider placement in the Marketplace, and go with "Community"
AMIs, in combination with "Quick Start" placement, if we can get it.

Thanks,
Brian
