Hi, python3-gi is already in cinnamon deps, even if python2 is still needed by some applet I think is not good readd it as cinnamon deps, is at end of life (https://pythonclock.org/) and in next debian version will be removed.
I think is better report it upstream (to the applet) and ask for python3 migration.
