I would like to have some input about what you think about this.
Apart from that, the muffin-plugins.pc pkg-config file is failing to expand the @CLUTTER_LIBS@ and @CLUTTER_CFLAGS@ variables (see: https:// salsa.debian.org/cinnamon-team/muffin/-/jobs/286364), and I currently don't have the time to chase this issue down. This is probably related to the changes made in the embedding process but I didn't check much of it. If you have the time, we could do with a patch to fix this issue. Also this is an upstream issue, so feel free to forward it upstream and, if you made a patch, propose the patch upstream.
Hi, I posted to linux mint development chat on slack and the replies about:
eschwartz 12:00 AM As for embedding clutter and cogl, I mentioned it here before because it annoys me too. But gnome are to blame, they did it to mutter and then abandoned standalone development. System clutter/cogl won't work because they have no fixes or development.
I think that use system clutter should be excluded.
eschwartz 11:59 PM @Fantu interesting issue, but is anyone actually using that pc file? o_O
I also think that nobody use it and FWIK muffin is used only by cinnamon.
Thanks for checking with upstream. I guess we can ignore these issues for now, it would be nice it we could fix at least the pc file.
