謝謝您對翻譯這本書的興趣。
這本書的翻譯工作協調一直是 ypwong 兄包辦的，不過近來因為他的新工作繁忙，
我就暫時頂替吧！ypwong 兄前一陣子處理的 TeX source 在：

我稍為更新了一下，再把 Big5 版本轉碼為 GB 版，放在
http://www.debian.org/~foka/debian-tutorial/
底下。因為後者比前者新，建議您訪問以上網址，並下載
http://www.debian.org/~foka/debian-tutorial-zh-2000-06-08.tar.gz
如果您想翻譯後可以重新編譯 *.dvi 和 *.ps 建議您使用 Debian potato 或
woody 版，因為 slink (Debian 2.1r5) 版裡面的中文軟件不齊全。登錄為 root，
利用 apt-get 安裝：
# apt-get install cjk-latex tfm-arphic-gkai00mp zh-autoconvert diff patch
就可以了。以防萬一，可以連帶安裝 tfm-arphic-gbsn00lp，gs-aladdin 或 gs，gv，
bzip2，以及將來可能應用到的 slice。如果您未安裝任何中文軟件，可順帶安裝
task-chinese-s。打字方面，暫時未有 chinput，但有 xcin-2.5 (支持 GB)，
crxvt-gb (rxvt-ml)，也有 cxterm-gb，也可以用 GNU Emacs 或 XEmacs。
正好，"Working with Text Files" 和 "The X Window System" 都未翻譯
（即是連 Big5 中文版也沒有），仍然全部是英文，您可以盡情翻譯這兩章了。
^_^ 如果這是您第一次使用 CJK (cjk-latex)，/usr/doc/cjk-latex 裡的說明
文檔也許對您有幫助。
翻譯前，請先為 debian-tutorial.zh_CN.tex 作備份。翻譯完後，
請把 debian-tutorial.zh_CN.tex 壓縮後寄給我和 ypwong，或用 diff -u:
diff -u debian-tutorial.zh_CN.tex.backup debian-tutorial.zh_CN.tex \
> debian-tutorial.zh_CN.tex.riser.patch
gzip 或 bzip2 後再寄給我們。我們其中一個會作處理，並把您翻譯的部份
轉碼為 Big5，放入 debian-tutorial.zh_TW.tex 裡。
./clean.sh 作大掃除；./remake.sh 重新編譯。如果運行 ./remake.sh 時
出現找不到 *.idx 文件的錯誤，請按 Enter 數次略過。等到第一輪 latex 和
makeindex 運行完畢，制出 debian-tutorial.zh_CN.ind 後，應該不會再出錯，
除非您再運行 ./clean.sh 把 debian-tutorial.zh_CN.ind 刪掉。
如果您嫌制出來的 *.ps 文件太大 (14 MB)，可以暫時把 coart.eps
gzip 起來，下次 ./remake.sh 時，出來的 *.ps 隻得 7 MB。
