好问题，因为我自己还在研究中，目前仍一知半解。 :-)
可以先看看 defoma-doc 软件包里面的 HTML 文件。加字体方法：
cd /etc/defoma/hints
ls ttf-arphic-g*.hints
里面有两个文鼎公开免费字体的 hints 配置文件。你要为北大方正的字体也一样
加这些 hints 文件。可先用 defoma-hints 制些 ttf-founders-*.hints 初稿出来，
再依照 ttf-arphic-gbsn00lp.hints 作适当的调整。 (北大方正，英文是 Founders
吗？ :-)
然后呢？可以用
defoma-font -t reregister-all /etc/defoma/hints/ttf-arphic-fangsong.hints
一类的命令安装。 :-)
不要忘记安装 x-ttcidfont-conf, gs-cjk-resource, cmap-adobe-gb1 等软件包呀！
