Re: [Quanta] If Debian support OS certification?

Dear Claire,

Note I am not representing the Debian community, but provide an opinion.

This is Jouston. A former employee of Quanta Cloud Technology, Canonical(Ubuntu), and also an ex-DWN matainer and varies other FLOSS projects contributor. Unlike Ubuntu and other Linux distributions supported by commercial companies. Debian is an all-community-supported Linux distribution. [1]

Thus there is no such thing as "Debian-Ready certification," AFAIK. However, if you pass the "Ubutu certificate" without running a private Launchpad repository, Debian can run without significant problems. Your team can leverage the Ubuntu test plan to run the Debian stable release and disclose self-claim test reports to your client.

Sincerely,

Jouston

Hi Debian team,

This is Claire from Quanta Cloud Technology, Taiwan.

I am in charge of server hardware certification.

Currently, we have the capability of Windows, RHEL, SLES, Ubuntu cert, etc…

We would like to know if Debian can perform hardware certification as well.

If support, please advise the process and any document we can refer to.

Thanks.

Best Regards,
