好問題，因為我自己還在研究中，目前仍一知半解。 :-)
可以先看看 defoma-doc 軟件包裡面的 HTML 文件。加字體方法：
cd /etc/defoma/hints
ls ttf-arphic-g*.hints
裡面有兩個文鼎公開免費字體的 hints 配置文件。你要為北大方正的字體也一樣
加這些 hints 文件。可先用 defoma-hints 制些 ttf-founders-*.hints 初稿出來，
再依照 ttf-arphic-gbsn00lp.hints 作適當的調整。 (北大方正，英文是 Founders
嗎？ :-)
然後呢？可以用
defoma-font -t reregister-all /etc/defoma/hints/ttf-arphic-fangsong.hints
一類的命令安裝。 :-)
不要忘記安裝 x-ttcidfont-conf, gs-cjk-resource, cmap-adobe-gb1 等軟件包呀！
