xpdf and type3 font

I write artical with lyx and generate the pdf file. But when i see the
effect use xpdf, it displays nothing and says as follow:

Error: This document uses Type 3 fonts - some text may not be correctly
displayed.

My question is:
1, Can xpdf display pdf file with type3 fonts? If it can, please tell me
how to do!
2, If xpdf can't display pdf file with type3 fonts, can i setup lyx or
pdftex to generate pdf file without type3 fonts?
